Food Truck Gala II at Our Place
Most vulnerable offered day of great food with dignity
Local businessman Scott Burley had so much fun serving up some of Victoria’s best food truck grub to the vulnerable population at Our Place last year, that he’s doing it again.
“I want everyone to be treated wi0h kindness and respect, regardless of their income or station in life,” says Burley who owns and operates 2 Burley Men moving company. “All the local food vendors I approached were eager to get onboard, and I know it will be both a fun and eye-opening event.”
The fresh-made food includes burritos from Taco Justice, gourmet grass-fed hamburgers from Dead Beetz, giant slices of pizza from Ali Baba Pizza, plus popcorn & snow cones from Judy’s Snack Shack. For dessert, Burley has secured warm apple and cherry pies from Saltchuck Pie Company, and soft drinks provided by GraphicFX.
“Scott is an inspiration to so many people, and to witness the joy and energy as he gives back to the less fortunate of Greater Victoria is incredible,” says Don Evans, executive director of Our Place. “We are grateful for the number of local businesses that are stepping up to help us address poverty in our city. Our Place offers businesses a great opportunity to get involved and make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable.”
